The List 2016

This will be a list of anything I’d like to acquire in 2016 that is related to art. Be it art materials, devices, skill, challenge, a certain level of mastery in different areas of improvement in my art, characters that i want to make a fanart of.

I intend to regularly update this and hope that at least one of them gets crossed out from the list.

• finish the XMEN fanart! lol – seriously finish it.
• get better at composition, perspective, and anatomy – redraw one of your paintings from 2015 (maybe the Korra piece)  NO PRESSURE get better in at least one area 😀
• upgrade pen tablet: get a cintiq / ipad pro/ a good alternative (lol good luck on this one) – save 50 sgd a month from salary, and whatever you get from commissions – lol #imposibru
  
• draw a fanart of the whole straw-hat crew (before new world version) like you always planned since you first started reading the manga (2007)

Inktober 2015 (Compiled)

It is my first time to do the drawing challenge/initiative this year and i should say it really improved my drawing habit. Reminds me of the times when I would draw on any paper I had (scrap, exam papers, student journals).

Can’t believe this has been around since 2009 and I was only aware of the #movember lol. just compiling my drawings for #inktober2015.

So here’s the album of my #inktober. There were busy days that I only had 10-15 mins to draw while some were less hectic and I would get the whole lunch hour to shade and add details or even complete a full drawing (daenerys and deadpool2 were done on a weekend) 🙂

can’t believe i actually finished portraits using markers and pens (Ian’s, Joey’s and Steph’s of course) which were personal achievements (was scared to draw portraits, still am).
Managed to do some fanarts, photo studies, experiment on perspectives and scenes. Overall this was a great experience and I hope to continue drawing and get better.

Batang X, 20 years after

Joined another online art jam: draw your concept of what would batang X be like 20 years after they have defeated zygrax.

this is what I have so far, decided to go with 3-NA dela Paz.

Batang X: 20 years after

Trina dela Paz, aka 3-NA. At a young age, 3-na’s electric waves was able to amplify and control the energy fields surrounding her body. This allowed her to stay inside an energy field that is cloaked in such a way that it distorts the light making her seem invisible to the eye of observer. 20 years later and she is able to transform this energy to whatever forms she needs: energy blaster boost, suit power up, magnetic field manipulation allowing her to levitate her suit and objects around her.

Korra x Kuvira: The Last Stand

 

The painting with the most number of hours and wip’s so far as I had a hard time deciding how I wanted it to look like.

Started the initial sketch while watching the final episodes of Avatar: The Legend of Korra. The final version is way way different from the inital sketch haha. Anyway, yey!

I know this still a lot of things to work on, (still yet to learn the basics of good compositions and perspectives) but I decided to not go any further. I hope to draw this again after a year and see how much I improved. 

Done in Photoshop with a wacom tablet.

Shirt Artworks

Some shirt commissions I worked on  last 2014

I had to stop as the fumes from the paint triggered my asthma, this is mainly the reason why I shifted to digital painting instead. I’m just happy being able to try and experience painting on shirts and using acrylics.
